Also the reason that the cat did this is actually because they are mirroring their owner. If their owner treats the thing (or in this case book) with respect and has made it very clear with their actions that the thing is important the cat will take notice and mirror this behavior!

he waits in the car with a walkie talkie while they investigate and if things break bad they call him in. as soon as he enters everything stops floating around/trying to kill the hunters and he rolls his eyes and goes back to the car.
he’s not bluffing. i can’t emphasize that enough. he 100% believes that the hunters calling him in is either a prank, to make him feel useful, or because they’re spookable cowards who panicked when a book fell.
he stays because the money is good and he can play his gameboy in the car.
i fucking love this so much. it’s like having a service animal but instead it’s a guy named steve who owns more cargo shorts than the Gap continuously baffled by why he keeps getting befriended by goths.
my favorite thing about the “iskall is tubbo’s dad” bit is that, as best i can tell, this is the one case of family dynamics having absolutely nothing to do with the fandom. iskall and captain sparklez and tubbo were just hanging out and they declared themselves as tubbo’s dad as a joke and iskall specifically is the one who hasn’t let it go. every time he catches sight of tubbo he goes “MY SON :D”. tubbo shows up randomly in his singleplayer vault hunters and he’s like “my beloved son”. tubbo says something on twitter and iskall goes “my kid”. and he’s like. the ONE GUY pushing this. i have seen surprisingly little fandom content of this one. i think tubbo just nods and goes along with it. iskall though? iskall has adoption papers signed on his wall. i’m not sure tubbo even signed them. iskall may have forged that. everyone’s just going with it. it’s really funny to me,
i have been informed like twice in the notes that the specific thing in vault hunters was “tubbo needed some late-game items and iskall got them for him under the condition that he then got to adopt tubbo as his son” which is frankly even funnier than my joke about forging the adoption papers actually,
